The study which deals with the comparison of legal systems, and tries to find out their differences and similarities is called Comparative Law. It has evolved as the best method for comparing legal systems which are used for analyzing legal cultures of various countries. It makes it easy for a country to understand the legal system of other countries. Globalization has many benefits, but it has complicated private and public laws. Unification and harmony of laws are essential for good world order and global cooperation. Many times, a local legislator would require a foreign country’s law for domestic legislation. Currently, Sujit Choudhry is serving as the Professor of Law at Berkeley, University of California. He was also the Dean there earlier. Sujit Choudhry has earned the reputation for developing a comparative constitution and being an authority of comparative law. His area of focus in research work is the development of methods that compare constitutional law. In addition to this, the constitutional design is his another specialty. The constitutional design is very useful for ending a violent conflict. Due to ethnic division, conflicts take place in different parts of the world. Constitutional design can change the authoritarian rule into a democratic government. Sujit Choudhry is the author of almost hundred papers, articles, reports and book chapters. Sujit Choudhry is also credited with founding the Center for Constitutional Transitions with the aim of creating and sharing knowledge of constitutional building. The different international organization had Choudhry in key positions. The Mediation Roster of the United Nations has Choudhry as its member. Previously, he was a consultant at the World Bank Institute. Conflict-hit countries in South Asia and the Middle East hired Sujit Choudhry as a constitutional expert. He was an Advisory Panel Member of the Toronto Government. The municipal government of Toronto was able to restructure itself due to reforms proposed by Sujit Choudhry. He was also on the Board of Directors of Legal Aid Ontario. The program is the biggest publicly funded program for providing assistance on legal matters. Sujit Choudhry used to teach at Law School of New York University before joining Berkeley Law School at the University of California. He also served at the University of Toronto as a faculty member. Only four people were awarded Trudeau Fellowship in 2010, and Choudhry was one of them. He is a graduate of three internationally famous universities.
